The conference will take place at the University's main building, in the centre of the main campus (Albertus-Magnus Platz).

Prof. Hulme's evening lecture on Thursday 4 will be in the lecture theatre no. 5 (basement floor), all other presentations and panels will take place in the "Alte Senatssaal" (ground floor).

- by train

from Cologne Central Station

Take the subway/tram lines 16 or 18 to the stop Neumarkt, from there take subway/tram line 9 in the direction “Sülz” to the stop Universität.

You can buy tickets on the platform or inside the train. The ride takes approximately 20 minutes.

A taxi from Cologne Central Station to the university costs approximately 15 €.

 

from Cologne Trade Fair/Deutz (Köln-Deutz/Messe)

Take subway/tram line 9 in the direction “Sülz” to the stop Universität.

A taxi from Köln Messe/Deutz  to the university costs approximately 20 €.

 

from Cologne "Süd"

Take the exit “Zülpicher Strasse”. After the exit, walk along Zülpicher Strasse in the direction Lindenthal to the intersection of Universitätsstrasse. Turn right on Universitätsstrasse and walk to the main building (approximately 5 to 10 minute walk).

from Düsseldorf/Neuss

Take the autobahn A57; at the end of the autobahn, exit right onto Innere Kanalstraße in the direction of Lindenthal; continue straight, then merge onto Universitätsstraße. This street passes under Albertus Magnus Platz, the university’s central square. Coming from the north, you have to make a U-turn at the next intersection to get back to the main building on Albertus Magnus Platz.

 

from Oberhausen

From Oberhausen take the autobahn A3; at the “Köln-Leverkusen” junction, join A1 in the direction of Aachen. At the “Köln-Nord” junction, change lanes onto A57 in the direction of “Köln-Zentrum”. At the end of the autobahn, exit right onto Innere Kanalstraße in the direction of Lindenthal; continue straight, then merge onto Universitätsstraße. This street passes under Albertus Magnus Platz, the university’s central square. Coming from the north, you have to make a U-turn at the next intersection to get back to the main building on Albertus Magnus Platz. 

 

from Wuppertal

Take the autobahn A1; at the “Köln-Leverkusen” junction, continue along A1 in the direction of Aachen. At the “Köln-Nord” junction, change lanes onto the A57 in the direction of “Köln-Zentrum”. Coming from the north, you have to make a U-turn at the next intersection to get back to the main building on Albertus Magnus Platz.

 

from Cologne/Bonn-Airport

Take the autobahn A59; at the “Köln-Porz” junction, exit onto A559 and continue straight. At the “Köln-Zentrum” exit, turn onto B55 and continue via Severinsbrücke to Barbarossaplatz. Merge onto Luxemburger Straße (B265) and continue straight, then turn right onto Universitätsstraße. This street passes under Albertus Magnus Platz, the university’s central square. Coming from the north, you have to make a U-turn at the next intersection to get back to the main building on Albertus Magnus Platz.

 

from Bonn

Take the autobahn A555; at the “Köln-Süd” junction, keep right and exit onto A4 in the direction of Aachen. Take the next exit “Köln-Klettenberg”; in Cologne, continue along Luxemburger Straße (B265) and (after approx. 3 km) make a U-turn at Greinstraße, then turn right onto Universitätsstraße. This street passes under Albertus Magnus Platz, the university’s central square. Coming from the north, you have to make a U-turn at the next intersection to get back to the main building on Albertus Magnus Platz.

 

from Koblenz

Take the autobahn A1; exit at “Frechen” and turn right onto Dürener Straße. Continue straight to the Universitätsstraße intersection and turn right onto Universitätsstraße. This street passes under Albertus Magnus Platz, the university’s central square. Coming from the north, you have to make a U-turn at the next intersection to get back to the main building on Albertus Magnus Platz.

 

from Aachen/Aix-la-Chapelle

Take the autobahn A4; at the “Köln-West” junction, join A1 in the direction of Dortmund. At the next exit, “Köln-Lövenich”, turn right onto Aachener Straße and continue straight into town (approx. 5.5 km); turn right onto Universitätsstraße. This street passes under Albertus Magnus Platz, the university’s central square. Coming from the north, you have to make a U-turn at the next intersection to get back to the main building on Albertus Magnus Platz.
